Legal
This Privacy Policy explains what information Benchmark Medical Billing ("Benchmark," "we," "us") receives through benchmarkmedicalbilling.com (the "Site") and how we use it. It covers the Site only. Protected health information we handle for clients is governed by our Business Associate Agreements and our HIPAA Notice, not by this policy.
Information you give us
- Become a Client form. The form asks for your practice name, your name, your role, your work email, your specialty, the number of providers, your state, practice type, ownership, current billing setup and an optional message. When you continue, only your name and work email leave your browser: they are added to the Calendly booking link so your booking form is prefilled. The other answers are not sent to us or stored by the Site.
- Booking a call. Calls are booked through Calendly. What you enter on Calendly (such as your name, email and any notes) is collected by Calendly and shared with us so we can hold the call.
- Email. If you email us at info@benchmarkmedicalbilling.com, we receive your message and email address.
Information collected automatically
The Site does not use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Like any website, our hosting provider (Amazon Web Services) processes standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver the Site and protect it from abuse. Access logs that record this information are kept for up to 90 days and then deleted automatically. Fonts and all other page assets are served from the Site itself.
Do not submit patient information
The Site is not designed to receive protected health information. Please do not enter patient names, dates of birth, member IDs, claim numbers, diagnoses or other patient information on the Site, in Calendly or by email. Client files and patient data are exchanged only through the secure client portal or another secure method agreed with each client at onboarding, never by email.
How we use information
- To respond to you and hold the calls you book.
- To evaluate whether and how we can provide our services to your practice.
- To keep the Site working and secure.
- To comply with legal obligations.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run our business (such as hosting, email and scheduling providers), and when required by law or to protect our rights.
Third-party services
Calendly is a third-party service with its own privacy policy. Links to other sites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their practices.
Retention and security
We keep information you send us only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, and we use reasonable safeguards to protect it. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information you have given us by emailing info@benchmarkmedicalbilling.com. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time.
Children
The Site is meant for healthcare businesses and is not directed to children.
Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date above shows when it last changed.
